For the last two years of tax debt of Ukrainians to the state budget reached 59 billion.

The debts of Ukrainian taxes to the state budget from 2014 to 2016 have increased by 3.8 times and amounted to 59 billion. It is reported by the accounting chamber of Ukraine, referring to the report on the results of performance audit of the tax debt.

The auditors recognized the current system of management of tax debt inefficient and opaque.

“Activities that carried out by fiscal authorities with the aim of preventing the growth of tax debt and its collection directly from the taxpayer, has not led to a slowdown in its growth or its decline” – it is told in the Department message.

The debt for taxes, fees and charges to the state budget for 2014-2016 has increased 3.8 times and as of 1 January 2017 has reached nearly 59 billion, the report says.

The main part of the tax debt (88 per cent) is formed from value added tax, tax on profits of enterprises and rent payments.

In 2016, the budget deficit of Ukraine was and 70.13 billion. Over the years it has grown in 1,6 times. Given the fact that last year, the Ukrainian economy amounted to 2.4 trillion UAH, the budget deficit equal to three percent of GDP.

The Ministry of justice of Ukraine has launched a Unified register of debtors. Also in the Ministry of justice proposed to deprive of Ukrainians of a driver’s license for debt.

It is known that Ukrainians owed for communal almost 17 billion.

We will remind, the Ukrainian economy is recognized as one of the “accidents” in the world. In the ranking Bloomberg”s Misery Index Ukraine occupies the seventh place.

Earlier it was reported that foreign investment in Ukraine grew by 17 percent. The largest Ukrainian investor was Russia.
