The Prosecutor’s office of Vienna confirmed the receipt of the request for extradition of a citizen of Ukraine gas tycoon Dmytro Firtash from Austria to Spain. According to the Ukrainian edition of Deutsche Welle, citing information from the speaker of the Vienna Prosecutor’s office, the request is made in Austria through official channels, at the moment he is studying law enforcement.

According to the procedure, if the Prosecutor will not find the circumstances preventing the extradition of the suspect, the case will be forwarded to the court. In the case of a positive court decision, the final decision will be taken by the Austrian Ministry of justice.

It is noted that the protection Firtash said about denying him his involvement in criminal money laundering, for which Spanish prosecutors declared him wanted.

“We are aware of reports in the Spanish press about our client, Mr. Firtash. He denied the sounded charges,” – said the Austrian lawyers of the Ukrainian oligarch.
