The Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov during a working visit to the Netherlands on December 14 signed the Agreement on strategic and operational cooperation with Europol. About it reports a press-service of the interior Ministry.

This agreement will enable Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to share and analyze operational information in conjunction with our European colleagues, as well as set the location of criminals who are wanted. In addition, this will allow the creation of an international joint investigation teams.

In turn, the Ukrainian side is ready to provide access to their databases that are of interest to Europol for co-operation.

According to the report, national contact point for cooperation with Europol on the Ukrainian side determined Netpolicy. For the rapid exchange of information there will soon be equipped with necessary equipment and software that will provide European partners. When this high tech line of communication will be most protected. To do this, Western partners have invited a group of Ukrainian experts, who will establish the technical sides.

“Now I can begin to structure our work, especially in the area of cybercrime and terrorism. Your experience is important and unique,” – said the head of Europol Rob Wainwright.

Europol is the law enforcement body of the EU, performs analytical, technical and financial support to partners in the field of prevention and combating of grave international crimes and terrorism.

Today the cooperation agreement signed with Europol by law enforcement agencies of Australia, Canada, United States, Iceland, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Albania, Macedonia, Moldova, and two international institutions: Eurojust and Interpol.
