China has launched a simulator of life on the moon

В Китае запустили симулятор жизни на Луне

The simulator is a large communal cabin with an area of 42 sq. m

The project, codenamed Wagon-365 will last throughout the year.

In China, a project was launched under the code name Wagon-365 (Temple of the moon – ed.) for the study of human life in conditions close to the moon, Xinhua reported. The first four volunteers – two men and two women since may 10, are in a special simulator.

Volunteers will spend the next 60 days. After that, they will be replaced by a second group of volunteers, which also consists of two men and two women. They have to spend in Wagon for 200 days. Finally, the first group of volunteers will return to the simulator for another 105 days.

It is expected that this experiment will allow scientists to understand what is required to sustain human life on the lunar surface in the medium and long term.

It will also check the health bioregenerative life support system, which has already held a 105-day test in 2014. This system allows animals, plants and microorganisms to coexist. Water and food products undergo processing, resulting in the simulator having conditions close to the earth.

Volunteers – civilian and post-graduate students of the Beijing aerospace University.

The simulator is a large communal cabin with an area of 42 sq m, which includes beds, lounge, washroom, equipment, waste recycling and indoor farming of animals, and two cabin-“greenhouses” for about 50-60 sq. m.

As reported Корреспондент.netChina is developing a spacecraft to deliver four people to the moon. Chinese program sensing of the moon Chang’e includes three stages.
