The largest in Eastern Europe festival of silent cinema moved to Kiev from Odessa, where he is 7 years passed on the docks of the seaport. In the “Silent nights” – two repremiere Ukrainian films, which were long considered lost. The film of Peter Chardynin “Taras Shake”, filmed in Odessa in 1926, was found only in 1998 in the vaults of the French Cinemateque, where he kept called “Tatars”. The film is voiced by French jazz musician Thierry Maillard. The main role in the film played almost the biggest stars of the Ukrainian cinema in the first half of the twentieth century – Ambrose Buchma Zaichkowsky Ivan and Natalia Uzhviy. Special event of the festival will be the exhibition of contemporary art.
