Foreign Ministry asks Ukrainians to refrain from visiting some of Japan’s prefectures in the earthquake. About it reports a press-service of the Department of consular service in Facebook.

“It is important in connection with a powerful earthquake that occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture (Japan) November 22, and given the persistent danger of aftershock Ministry of foreign Affairs recommends Ukrainian citizens to refrain from visiting the prefectures of Fukushima , Iwate, Miyagi, Ibaraki, Chiba. For those citizens of Ukraine who are on the territory of these regions, it is necessary to follow closely the authorities of Japan on the threat of further aftershocks and a tsunami,” – said in the message.

Also, the office gives recommendations for behavior during an earthquake:

– if you are indoors, go to the beam, doorway, or stand in front of the bearing wall;

– are away from objects that can fall and injure you (plaster, Windows, furniture, other loose items);

carefully use a ladder, it can be damaged;

– do not use the Elevator;

– consider other possible consequences of the earthquake: the destruction of bridges, landslide, debris, gas leak, etc .;

– if you are outdoors, move away from buildings, trees, streetlights, power lines, and from the places where you could get hit by falling objects (exterior, tiles, billboards).

“After the earthquake, if necessary, provide first aid to those who need it. Get out of the buildings cautiously, wearing shoes to prevent injury from broken glass. In case of a tsunami warning, citizens in the coastal areas, you should immediately leave the dangerous places and, if possible, to get to safe places in the hills or in high buildings and not leave them to cancel the alert,” – said the Agency.

We will remind, according to the latest data in Japan removed the threat of a tsunami, meteorologists do not rule out new strong earthquake in the coming days.
