Glad amnestied fighters ATO

Рада амнистировала бойцов АТО

Rada adopted an Amnesty to fighters ATO

The law provides for non-prosecution ATU soldiers who were frequently on the front, not having the relevant documents.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on Amnesty in 2016, which provides, among other things, non-prosecution ATU soldiers who were frequently on the front, not having the relevant documents.

The bill gained the support of 226 MPs out of 308.

We will remind, the deputies passed the law on Amnesty in July, but then the President has imposed on the veto law, and returned with their proposals, which were mostly corrections of terminology and eliminate the possibility of ambiguous interpretation.

The law was proposed to release convicted persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, took part in the ATO, received the status of combatants.

The main criteria for its application were insignificant social danger of the crimes committed by people serving sentences, as well as objective factors – serious illness, old age.

Also we will remind that in October, President Petro Poroshenko declared a “radioactive Amnesty”.
