To eliminate your efforts have made the law enforcers in 30 countries. Five people a few days ago arrested, among them three Ukrainians. The organizer of a network suspected of a citizen of Ukraine, who was detained in Poltava. It has rendered armed resistance, having on hand a Kalashnikov and a gun battle,” – said Lutsenko.
The loss inflicted on the members of the network, is estimated at hundreds of millions of euros.
According to Lutsenko, the organizer is charged with article 196 and article 209 (the legalization laundering of proceeds of crime), article 361 (unauthorized intervention in work of computers, computers, automated systems, etc.).
“In simple terms, this is the first very visible success of the Ukrainian law enforcement bodies in the international arena. This is the first big and successful, including through the Ukrainian law enforcement system, international Europol operation, of which we have recently become” – said the Prosecutor General.
As noted by the acting national police head of Vadim Troyan, the operation was complicated.
“The coordination headquarters was in the Hague. Europol were the main invited countries, the main organizer of this criminal group was Ukrainian. This group consisted of 27 representatives of various nationalities and countries. Of them, we know exactly what 10 Ukrainians,” said Trojan.
“How has this happened? One day, yesterday, at seven in the morning we stood on these addresses, in 30 countries. At 7 am started the go-ahead, was searched. 27 man detained now 5. Three Ukrainians – one in Germany, two in Ukraine. 180 operatives participated in this effort,” he added.
