In Khmelnytsky region the police detained members of criminal group, which included police and criminal “authority”. About it reported in a press-service GU of the National police.

Police found that the criminal activities of a group that extorted money from businessmen of the region, involved in one of the police officers in the capital region. On the next episode of the racketeering defendants in the group were detained.

“At that time, as employees of the security Service of Ukraine in Khmelnytskyi engaged in criminal gang controlled by a criminal called “Gia”, field investigators of Department of internal security the National police checked the available information about the illegal activities of a police officer of the Kiev region”, – stated in the message.

However, it was found that in both cases, there were “business partners” 29-year-old criminal “authority” and 22-year-old police Sergeant alongside demanded money from people, threatening and using physical violence. The gang consisted of 25 – and 30-year-old khmelnychyna, one of which convicted three times for robbery.

The attackers chose their victims among the entrepreneurs of the cities of Shepetivka and Slavuta, Khmelnitsky region, forcing to return the fictional “debts.” The ransomware victims were forcibly detained, threatened with physical violence, torture and taking available values.

Thus, the racketeers have forced the 26-year-old resident of Slavuta in October last year to give them 5 thousand hryvnias. In February of 2017 participants of criminal group accused the 24-year-old resident of Khmelnytsky in “debt” to their friend 1 thousand dollars USA. After the “dialogue” before the man put a demand to pay the debt weekly 100-200 dollars. And then forced him to give them another 4 thousand UAH as a “penalty” for debt, and was reminded of the unpaid thousands of dollars.

The whole group together with the police immediately after they received the funds and had to separate them between themselves, was detained in Slavuta during a joint special operation of employees of internal security the National police of Ukraine, SBU and Prosecutor’s office of area.

It turned out that at the time of the crime, a police officer was additional leave for the period of the training session in one of the universities in Ukraine. Today he was the investigator declared suspicion under part 2 of article 189 (Extortion) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

Criminal “authority” and his accomplices, who are charged with committing robberies and extortion, detained for a period of 2 months. The investigation continues.
