Real wages in Ukraine decreased
The average nominal salary of full-time employee is 5350 hryvnas.
In October 2016, real wages in Ukraine was lower than in the previous month by three percent, according to state statistics.
However, compared to October 2015 real wages increased by 6.2 percent.
The average nominal salary of full-time employee in October decreased by 0.2 percent compared with September and amounted to 5350 hryvnas.
It is 3.7 times above the level of the minimum wage in Ukraine, which is 1450 UAH (we remind that since 1 January the minimum wage in Ukraine will increase twice).
In the state statistics service also noted that compared to October 2015, average nominal wages rose by 18.1 percent.
The highest average wage in October was recorded in air transport – 27,2 thousand hryvnia, the financial and insurance activities – 10.5 thousand UAH and in the field of telecommunications – 9.6 thousand.
The lowest level of average wage in October was registered in the sphere of postal and courier activities – 3,1 thousand UAH, in education – 3,7 thousand UAH, health – 3,5 thousand hryvnias.
Data are calculated excluding the temporarily occupied Russian territory of the Crimea and the ATO zone.
