By February 2017, the production of steel increased by 30 percent.
The production of steel without semi-finished products obtained by continuous casting in Ukraine in March of this year compared with the same period of 2016 increased by 9.1% and amounted to 967 thousand tons, says the report of the state statistics.
The February 2017 the production of steel increased by 30 percent. In 3 months it produced 2 million 584 thousand tons of steel, which is 5.9 percent less than the same indicator of 2016.
At the same time, pig iron production in March in annual terms, decreased by 23.3% and increased by 9.3 percent month-on-month, amounting to 1 million 569 thousand tons. 3 months – 4 million 852 thousand tons (-17%).
It is also noted that the production of rolled ferrous metals in March 2017 compared to March 2016 decreased by 8.4 percent to 1 million 36 thousand tons (+5.5% compared to February 2017). In 3 months it produced 3 million 129 thousand tonnes (-1,3%).
At the end of this winter it was reported that Ukraine increased the inflow of foreign currency due to the metallurgy.
Also note that last year’s President Petro Poroshenko said metallurgy has fallen from the number of priority sectors. According to him, it requires too much investment.
