Former first Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Mykola Golomsha
The interrogation of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the case of five ex-“Berkut officers” should not be allowed until he gave testimony on the main case, with respect to its own crimes against the Maidan. This broadcast channel “112 Ukraine”, said the former first Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Mykola Golomsha.
“The prosecutors who were in court, they had to protest against such a questioning (Yanukovych – ed.) as a witness and to insist that it needs to be questioned as a suspect in a main case. No person can be questioned, because then his testimony will be critically evaluated for the primary case. From the point of view of tactics of the investigation, he should be questioned on the main case, and then these readings must be read out in court on demand, for example, defended “Berkut officers”. Or he could be questioned in this case, if the court defined what their role is. And so that’s one thing,” he said.
The Golomsha said that, in his opinion, what happened today outside the Lukyanivska prison is a proper response of society to violation of the law by the court. “I think this is a purely political action, people’s reaction to the violation of the law by the court, which allowed this interview because this interview was unnecessary… If people surrounded, protesting against the interrogation and do not perform any active action of physical impact, their actions can not be regarded as a violation of public order,” he said.
According to Golomsha, responsibility for nondelivery of the defendants in Svyatoshinsky regional court are specially authorized bodies that relate to the prison system.
Recall, today, November 25, in the Svyatoshinsky court of Kiev videoconference was scheduled questioning of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the case of 5 former employees of special forces “Berkut”. After the beginning of the session, the court announced a 20-minute break, because the defendants were not brought to the court: several dozen people blocked the departure of ex-“berkutovets” of Lukyanovka jail. Shortly thereafter, the interrogation Yanukovych was postponed. The interior Ministry said that will bring the defendants into court at the first technical capabilities, but question of power delivery, the defendants were not.
