Ireland will establish a Fund with $15 billion from Apple

13 billion euros will be in the Fund while Apple and the Irish government will challenge the decision of the European Commission.

The Irish authorities will create a special Fund that will manage received from Apple Inc additional taxes in the amount of 13 billion euros (15.2 billion dollars), writes Bloomberg.

In August 2016, the European Commission decided that Apple should pay taxes in Ireland because the tax preferences of the Corporation in this country was granted unlawful.

The money will be in the Fund while Apple and the Irish government will challenge the decision of the European Commission. It is noted that proceedings can take several years.

It is also reported that Apple representatives will also participate in the organization of the Foundation along with the Irish government. It is expected that the Fund will hire one or more managers for investment management.

Recall that Ireland opposed the levying $14 billion from Apple. The authorities insist that there is nothing illegal in tax preferences were not.

Apple CEO Tim cook also said that neither the Irish government nor the company did nothing illegal and has called the regulator’s decision “political crap”.
