Ukraine demands to release Sushchenko and other illegally detained in the Russian Ukrainians.
Ukraine expressed strong protest period for extension of arrest of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, illegally detained in Russia on trumped up charges. The corresponding statement was circulated by the press service of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine on Monday, November 28.
“Consider the refusal of Russian court to grant the petition to change the measure of restraint for Ukrainian journalist on not connected with detention and the holding of court hearings behind closed doors as a clear proof of prejudice to his trial and his political motivation”, – is spoken in the comment of the MFA of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry expressed confidence that “acting unlawful methods, the Russian government exerts conscious pressure on the illegally detained Sushchenko, his family and colleagues on journalistic shop”.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine demands from the Russian Federation to “immediately stop this rezhissiruemyh and mounted “criminal case”, to release Sushchenko, as well as other Ukrainian citizens have become hostages of the continuing aggressive policy of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and to return them to their homeland”.
We will remind, the Lefortovo district court of Moscow on 28 November to extend for two months the arrest Sushchenko.
