The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin thanked the Portuguese Parliament for the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 a genocide. The announcement published on the website of the Minister on twitter.

“Grateful to the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal for the recognition of the genocide in Ukraine of 1932-1933 events and for honoring the memory of victims of Holodomor”, – reads the message of Paul klimkina.

Earlier the Portuguese Parliament recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

We will remind, in Ukraine the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people, organized by the leadership of the CPSU(b) and the government of the USSR in 1932-1933 by creating artificial mass starvation that led to millions of human casualties in rural areas on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR and the Kuban region, the vast majority of the population were Ukrainians.

The Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933 was officially recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people the following countries: Australia, Georgia, Ecuador, Estonia, Canada, Colombia, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, and Hungary. Some States have condemned the Holodomor as an act of destruction of mankind in a formal appeal. This is Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, Vatican, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, USA, Czech Republic, Chile.
