The constitutional court of Ukraine continued its consideration of the case on the constitutional representation 57 MPs about the constitutionality of the law “On principles of state language policy”. This “UNN” reported in a press-service KSU.

“The constitutional court of Ukraine completed a study the case materials in the open plenary session in the form of oral hearings and passed to the closed part of the plenary session for further discussion and decision”, – stated in the message.

According to the report, during the open meeting of the CCU have heard of people’s deputies of Ukraine of the 7th convocation of Oleg Bondarchuk, Irina Farion, the representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the permanent representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the constitutional court of Ukraine Anatoly Selivanov.

The court also heard from representatives involved in the proceedings as witnesses people’s deputies of Ukraine of the 6th convocation Ivan Zajc, Yuriy Karmazin, Jaroslav KENDZERA, Yuri Kliuchkovsky, Mykola Tomenko.

We will remind, the law “On principles of state language policy” presented by MPs Vadym Kolesnichenko and Serhiy Kivalov, was adopted, signed and entered into force in 2012.

In February 2014, the Verkhovna Rada cancelled the law about regional languages, however, then acting President Oleksandr Turchynov refused to sign the decision.

As you know, 57 people’s deputies appealed to the constitutional court with a demand to recognize the law of Kivalov-Kolesnichenko unconstitutional in 2014.

Note that in Russia said that the abolition of the language law is the first reason why the Federation Council approved Putin’s proposal on the introduction of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.
