On the facts of defilement of monuments to fallen poles, police opened criminal proceedings under article “Hooliganism” and is taking steps to identify the persons involved in Commission of offences. About it reports a press-service GU of the Channel.

“The actions of criminals are qualified by investigators as hooliganism… Militiamen take measures to identify the persons involved in Commission of offences. Conducted investigative actions”, – is told in the message a press-services.

The police said that the sanction of part 1 of article 296 (“Hooliganism”) the Criminal code of Ukraine prescribes punishment in the form of a penalty from 500 to 1000 free minima of the income of citizens or arrest for up to 6 months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to 5 years.

The police also said that both monuments have already been cleaned and damage to them is not revealed.

Recall, March 12, vandals desecrated the graves of the fallen poles in the cemetery in Pidkamin village in the Lviv region. Graves filled with red paint, and the center of the cross wrote “death to the poles”.
