Poroshenko urged Ukrainians to leave Russian sites

He explained that his team used a page in Russian social networks to “influence the opponents and counter-propaganda”.

President Petro Poroshenko called on Ukrainians to abandon the Russian sites, for security reasons. About this he wrote in Facebook.

Today Poroshenko banned Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki and other Russian sites. President enacted the NSDC decision on the extension of the list of individuals and legal entities.

“I urge all compatriots to immediately get out of Russian servers for reasons of security,” he wrote.

However, he promised to close their official page in Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki.

He explained that in order to “influence the opponents and counter-propaganda his team used some pages in Russian social networks”.

“But the massive cyber attack of the Russian Federation around the world, in particular, the recent intervention in the election campaign in France, indicate that it is time to act differently and more strongly. Ukrainian Internet providers must stop providing access to “Vkontakte”, “Odnoklassniki”, “Yandex” and other Russian services. Official page of the President on these services will be closed”, – he wrote.

The President urged to follow the official pages on other social networks, in particular Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

Also note that on the website of the President has disappeared the button “share “Vkontakte”.
