Poroshenko discussed with the head of the Turkish Parliament issues of cooperation
A request was made at a meeting with speaker of the Grand national Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his visit to Turkey, urged Ankara to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 a genocide. On Wednesday, March 9, in his microblog on Twitter reported the press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsegolko.
Poroshenko made the request at a meeting with the head of the Grand national Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey Ismail Kahraman. The talks were also attended by the leaders of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Mustafa Dzhemilev and Refat Chubarov.
During the meeting, Poroshenko expressed interest in deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation with Turkey on a bilateral level and within international organizations.
The President thanked Turkey for the support to confront human rights violations in Crimea and called on the head of the Turkish Parliament to continue their efforts in keeping this issue on the agenda of world politics.
In turn, Kahraman, confirmed the non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea and promised further support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
He also said that a few days ago in the Turkish Parliament established a friendship group with Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on March 9-10, will pay an official visit to Turkey.
