Shokin was the Prosecutor General of Ukraine from February 2015 to April 2016

Ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the Supreme administrative court.

Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin has filed a lawsuit in the Supreme administrative court with a demand to recognize the illegal dismissal. It is reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine, citing the press service of the court.

Defendants are the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Verkhovna Rada. Claim consideration is appointed to April 10.

The court said that Shokin asks to recognize illegal and to cancel the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to consent to the dismissal of its President from the post of attorney General.

Also Shokin asks to recognize illegal and to cancel the decree of the President of April 3, 2016, on the release from office of the Prosecutor General and the presidential decree of 23 June 2016 n 269/2016, as well as his reinstatement to an administrative position. The decree of Peter Poroshenko introduced the addition of “upon request” in the previous decree of dismissal Shokin.

Recall, the National anti-corruption Bureau checks information about the presence of Shokin undeclared income.
