The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (Russian foreign Minister) Sergei Lavrov and the special representative of the OSCE Chairman in the Trilateral contact group on settling the conflict in Eastern Ukraine Martin Sajdik held a meeting regarding the activities of the mission and the situation in the Donbass. This reports the press service of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.

“During the meeting they discussed the activities of the OSCE mission considered possible measures to improve its efficiency within the existing mandate. Stressed the importance of respecting the principles of objectivity and impartiality in its work”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that also held an exchange of views on the progress of negotiations in the Contact group between the parties to the conflict – representatives of Kiev and Donbass. “They stressed the need for the implementation by the parties of the “package of measures to implement the Minsk agreements” on 12 February 2015, which is the sole basis of domestic conflict,” the report States.

It is noteworthy also the meeting was attended by the head of the Special OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine chief monitor Ertugrul Apakan and his Deputy Alexander hug.

We will remind, yesterday, on 15 March, Minsk hosted a regular meeting of the Tripartite contact group to resolve the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. In the framework of yesterday’s meeting, the Ukrainian side raised the issue before of the Russian Federation and “LDNR” on recognition “of passports of the Republic” and the seizure of Ukrainian enterprises.

The next meeting of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk will take place on March 29.
