With the beginning of the year the arrears of wages grew by 4.3%
More than half of the debt – in Lugansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
Arrears of wages in Ukraine as of November 1, 2016 was 1, 962 billion. According to the State statistics service (state statistics), thus the total debt decreased by 0.8% compared to 1,979 billion hryvnia in October.
According to state statistics, the amount of arrears of wages of economically active enterprises decreased in October by 1.3% to 1,291 billion. More than half of the debt from the total formed in Luhansk (23,5%), Donetsk (17.5%) and Kharkiv (10.4 percent) regions.
The main share of total debt accounted for the industry (73.2 per cent), transport, warehousing, post and courier activities (by 9.7%).
Note, the state statistics service provides data excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the zone of the antiterrorist operation.
Recall that in early November, the Cabinet approved the finalized draft state budget for 2017. The main change in the draft budget is to increase the minimum wage from 1 January 2017 to 3.2 thousand.
