State statistics Committee reported on the growth of the economy for the first time since 2012

Ukrainian economy expanded in 2016 to 2.3 percent.

Ukraine’s GDP as a whole for the year 2016 compared to 2015 year increased by 2.3 percent. This is stated on the website of the State statistics service.

It is noted that the GDP growth recorded for the first time in 4 years after the economy slumped 9.8 percent in 2015 and 6.6 percent in 2014, and in 2013, GDP growth was zero.

It is reported that the nominal GDP by the end of 2016 amounted to 2,383 trillion USD, and GDP per person – 55,848 thousand hryvnia.

Also gosstat results revised quarterly estimates of GDP. Thus, in the first quarter of 2016, the GDP grew 0.1 percent for the first quarter of 2015 and 0.5 percent from the previous quarter, and nominal GDP was $ 455,637 billion hryvnia.

In the second quarter, GDP grew by 1.5 per cent against the same quarter of the previous year and by 0.9 percent from the previous quarter, and nominal GDP amounted to 535,324 billion hryvnia.

In the third quarter, GDP grew by 2.3 percent by the third quarter of 2015 and by 1.4 percent from the previous quarter, and nominal GDP amounted to 669,170 billion hryvnia.

In the fourth quarter, GDP grew by 4.8 per cent against the same quarter of the previous year and 1.9 percent the previous quarter, and nominal GDP amounted to 723,051 billion hryvnia.

Meanwhile, the Bank downgraded the forecast for economic growth of Ukraine due to the blockade of Donbass.

And in January this year, the Ukrainian economy grew by five percent.
