Chinese travel website Ctrip has acquired a service on the Skyscanner flight search. The amount of the transaction amounted to about 1.75 billion dollars, according to British media.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The current team of employees Skyscanner will continue its work in the company and will be responsible to manage the service.
Skyscanner was launched in 2003. It allows travelers to search for cheap flights and compare prices from different websites for planes, hotels and rental cars. The website is visited monthly by about 60 million users. It is available in more than 30 languages, including Ukrainian and Russian.
Skyscanner was ranked in the “top ten tourist sites” and the list of “101 really useful web site.”
