The Council of Europe demanded that Russia restore the Majlis

The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted a decision on the situation in Crimea, which has put forward a number of requirements to its members, Russia, said foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on Twitter.

According to him, the Committee has demanded from Russia to resume the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. Another requirement is to provide a tolerance in the Crimea leaders of the Majlis who are now denied entry to the Peninsula.

“The Committee of Ministers invites the Council of Europe Commissioner for human rights to consider adopting measures in assessing the situation with human rights in Crimea”, – he added.

In addition, Kimkin stated that the Committee calls for full implementation of the Resolution of the UN General Assembly on Crimea. The Council of Europe attaches to the implementation of the resolution.
