The court transferred the case of treason against 11 former Crimean deputies

The Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea sent to the court indictments against 11 former deputies of the VR ARC on suspicion of treason. It is reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko on his page in Facebook.

According to him, the case was referred to the court in respect of former members Tsekova, Savchenko, Bakharev, Gafarova, Zaichenko, Ilyasova, Joffe, Klytchnikova, Nahlupina, Fix, Shuvaynikov. They are accused of treason.

“During the investigation of criminal proceedings obtained unequivocal evidence that in March 2014 the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has assisted and contributed to the occupation of the Crimea”, – said the Prosecutor General.

It is noted that they had illegally adopted a number of resolutions, the result of which was created illegitimate public education “Republic of Crimea”. The Kyiv court of appeal by 6 defendants has already scheduled a hearing on 3 and 4 January 2017 to address the issue according to the court, which will consider them.

Recall that after escape from Ukraine of former President Yanukovych, on the night of 27 February, the Parliament and government of Crimea was seized by unknown gunmen, and over them hung a Russian flag. The seizure of buildings has not prevented to gather deputies of the Supreme Council and accept the decision on appointment of the referendum on the status of the Peninsula. On the same day they captured the airport Belbek, stopped ferry in Kerch, began blocking Russian military unmarked Ukrainian military units seized the Simferopol airport. March 1, the self-proclaimed “Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea” Sergey Aksenov appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide assistance in “ensuring peace and tranquility” in the Crimea. In Russia then adopted a decision on permission to enter the territory of Ukraine of Russian troops.
