The EU will allocate Ukraine tranche of 600 million euros

Installment will be the last of a series of loans.

The European investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission has today, 19 December, announced the disbursement of a tranche. This is stated in the press release of the EIB.

“Today in Brussels, the European investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission announced the allocation of the last of a series of loans in the amount of approximately 600 million euros. This loan is part of the obligations to Ukraine, which the EU announced in March 2014. At a special signing ceremony held at the headquarters of the European Commission, the EIB has fulfilled its commitment for the period 2014-2016 on the provision of 3 billion euros under the program of financial support”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that this program is part of a package of support amounting to 11 billion euros which the EU announced in March 2014. This latest package of loans, the EIB complements a number of other investments that the Bank has provided Ukraine since March 2014 to help the country to stabilize its economic and financial situation. We will remind, the European Union has committed three tranches to support reforms in the sphere of decentralization, transport and technical standardization in Ukraine, totaling 54 million euros.

We will remind, earlier the European investment Bank provided 200 million Euro loan for the financing of public transport in Ukraine.
