The national Council on television and radio reported about violations of the law on quotas for Ukrainian language in five local radio stations. This was reported by a member of the national Council Sergey Kostinsky in Facebook.

Thus, representatives of the National Council in the areas of recorded signs of violations of the requirements of the law on quotas, including local radio stations:

IRTA (TRC “IRTA” the area of the ATO, Donetsk region): 14% of total songs (the percentage of Ukrainian-language songs should be 25%), 24% of the volume of the songs in the intervals from 07:00 to 14:00 (should also be 25%);

– “News. Radio (TRV COMPANY” MASTER “, Kharkov): 44% – percentage of broadcast in the Ukrainian language (should be 50%);

– “Europe plus Dnepr” (LLC “TRC” Scythia “, Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region): 16.1% of the total volume of the songs;

– “Of 104.0 FM” (JSC “TRK” STUDIO “, Mariupol): 47,87% – percentage of broadcast in the Ukrainian language;

Recall, November 8, in Ukraine came into force a law on quotas for Ukrainian songs on the radio.

According to the law, broadcasting each broadcaster must consist of domestic audiovisual product not less than 50%.

Also, broadcasters in the implementation of the radio needs to provide a fraction of the songs in the state language not less than 35% of the total amount of songs distributed throughout the day.

Thus, broadcasters whose broadcast music in the languages of the European Union amount to no less than 60%, have a slightly smaller quota of 25% of Ukrainian songs.

For failure to comply with these requirements, the broadcasters face a fine in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the license fee.
