The new resolution encourages States to exchange information on foreign fighters-terrorists and terrorist organizations, including biometric and biographic data. It talks about the importance of cooperation between judicial and law enforcement authorities of crimes related to terrorism, reported the UN news Center.

“UN Security Council calls upon States to consider, where this is appropriate, the possibility of reducing the degree of secrecy of intelligence for official use only about the threat posed by foreign terrorist fighters…”, – stated in the text of the resolution.

Council members also recommended that “to consider” improved access to police information network Interpol “I-24/7”.

One of the points of the new resolution calls upon all States to ensure that perpetrators and sponsors of terrorist acts and their accomplices did not abuse refugee status and that claims of political motivation are not recognized as grounds for refusing requests for the extradition of persons suspected of involvement in terrorism

The resolution was approved at the meeting of the headquarters of UN in new York chaired by the Minister of justice of Spain Rafael Catala Polo.
