Ukraine to significantly intensify the negotiations on granting a visa-free regime with countries that diplomatically are at risk. About it on air of TV channel “112 Ukraine” said first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko.
“Next week will be discussed Suspension mechanism, which, unfortunately, binds the European side start visa-free regime. Also must be a final decision in the hall of the European Parliament. There is support Ukraine in this issue. But now there is the decision that voting in the Ukrainian case may be, after the vote of Suspension mechanism. We plan, the Ukrainian government, politicians, diplomats, just now, in the weeks to significantly intensify our dialogue with the European Parliament, as well as France, Germany, Belgium, those countries that are diplomatically at risk”, she said.
As reported, on 17 November, the ambassadors of the EU countries approved the start of visa liberalization for Ukraine. They noted that the entry into force of visa-free regime for Ukraine should take place simultaneously with the entry into force of the new mechanism for its abolition. Based on this, negotiations will be launched with the European Parliament.
At the summit Ukraine – EU which was held yesterday, 24 November, the heads of the institutions of the European Union confirmed that Ukraine has fulfilled all the requirements and can get bezviz to the end of the year. The head of the European Council Donald Tusk hopes that the termination mechanism of visa-free regimes can be developed this year.
