Ukraine and Iran have agreed to launch a test train for the transportation of agricultural products, primarily grain from Ukraine to Iran. This was stated by the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian after a meeting with the Iranian delegation, informs the press service of the Ministry.
The Minister said that the route will pass through Georgia and Azerbaijan. He also noted that the test train Ukraine-Iran may go in the summer of 2017.
“This is a very promising area of cooperation for both countries. Ukraine needs to develop a new international transport corridors in order to become a reliable transit bridge between Europe, Asia and the East,” said Omeljan.
The Minister also urged the Iranian side to consider the possibility of transporting Iranian oil to Ukraine and the prospects of building an oil refinery on the territory of our state.
