Poroshenko ordered to strengthen cooperation with Eurojust

The competent authority for the implementation of the agreement in Ukraine is determined by the Prosecutor General’s office.

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine “On ratification of the Agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and the European organization for justice”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 8 February 2017.

“The agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and the European organization for justice was signed on 27 June 2016 in Brussels. The Agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the European organization for justice in the fight against serious crime, in particular organized crime and terrorism”, – is spoken in the message.

It is expected that the agreement’s entry into force will improve the cooperation between Ukraine and Eurojust and to promote the coordination of investigations on the territory of Ukraine and member States of the EU.

“The signing of this document became the next step towards the integration of Ukraine into the European legal space”, – said the President.

The competent authority to implement the provisions of this agreement in Ukraine is determined by the Prosecutor General’s office.

Note, on 6 March, the foreign Ministers of EU countries agreed on the establishment of a staff on carrying out non-combat operations abroad.
