Ukrainian tried to smuggle to China a collection of 21 paintings of the 18th – early 20th century, with significant artistic and cultural value. About it reports a press-service of head Department GFS in Odessa.
Employees of the SFS foiled an attempt of removal of valuable paintings.
“During the customs clearance of investments international Express mail, as declared by the citizen of Ukraine as copies of pictures, suspect the veracity of the alleged information. After conducting a customs inspection on attraction experts, art historians, suspicions were confirmed. According to the preliminary conclusion of experts, examined 18 of the paintings are original works of art, made by professional European, mainly German, painters of the 18th – early 20th century. All the paintings have a high level of performance that can be attributed to them in the State register of national cultural heritage”, – said the press service of the SFS.
