PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” intends next year to boost railway tariffs for cargo transportation by 25% for travel on passenger trains by 35%. About it in the comments UNIAN said the Director of the Department of state policy in the field of railway transport of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Fedorenko.
According to him, the indexation of railway tariffs laid down in the draft financial plan “Ukrzaliznytsi” for 2017, which is already approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and will soon be sent to the external coordination in the Ministry of Finance and economic development.
Director railway Department noted that the need for revision of tariffs has arisen in connection with growth of prices for products purchased for the needs of the railway industry, particularly on diesel fuel and electricity.
In addition, according to him, the increase in tariffs necessary for partial stabilization of the financial state of the industry, including for the upkeep of the rolling stock and safety, which requires significant expenses because of the depreciation of fixed assets the railway industry is almost 90%.
Recall, “Ukrzaliznytsya” has launched for the Christmas season, 11 additional trains to meet the demand for transporting passengers, which traditionally increases during this period.
