The former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said that his biggest mistake in 2014 was a rejection of the imposition of martial law in Ukraine. He stated this during a press conference in Rostov-on-don.
“I really made some mistakes, I’m not a Saint. The biggest mistake that I made – I couldn’t then sign a decree on the introduction of troops and the imposition of martial law. Then it was the only way to stop radicals.I did not go to the bloodshed,” Yanukovych said.
He noted that if that time back, it still could not sign a decree on the introduction of martial law.
“Would not rise a hand. At that time Ukraine was divided virtually in half. This would be the beginning of the civil war and I did not go for it”, – Yanukovych noted.
