Yanukovych in Russia granted temporary asylum until the end of 2017

Януковичу в России предоставили временное убежище до конца 2017 года

Viktor Yanukovych has received temporary asylum in Russia. This is stated in documents which the GPU was provided by the lawyer of fugitive ex-President Vitaliy Serdyuk, reports “RBC-Ukraine”.

According to the document, Viktor Yanukovych received a certificate of temporary asylum on the territory of the Russian Federation. It was issued by the Federal migration service of Russia in the Rostov region on 26 November 2015 for one year. Later its validity was extended for another year – until November 2017.

As stated in the certificate, Viktor Yanukovych put on record in the Soviet district of Rostov-on-don.

“The certificate of temporary asylum is a document that certifies the identity of its owner and confirms the legality of the stay of that person in the territory of the Russian Federation. A person granted asylum cannot be returned against his will to the territory of the state of his nationality (his former usual residence)”, – the document says.

Today the lawyer Yanukovych Vitaliy Serdyuk returned to the GPU suspicion of treason, announced attorney General Yuri Lutsenko during interrogation. Lawyer Yanukovych Vitaliy Serdyuk has filed an application for the return of suspicion and summons about a call on interrogation. Yanukovych sent a summons for questioning on 5 and 9 December.

We will remind that on November 28, during the interrogation of Yanukovych in the case of “berkutovets” Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared Yanukovych the suspicion of treason. Lutsenko said that a notification was also sent to Russia. After that, the representatives of the Military Prosecutor presented the lawyer of ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the notice of suspicion in committing a crime.
