A Moscow court to give the Director of the Library of Ukrainian literature under house arrest

The Moscow city court upheld the extension of house arrest of Director of the Library of Ukrainian literature Natalia Sharina, accused of embezzlement and extremism. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to her lawyer Ivan Pavlov.

“The judicial Board has rejected our appeal, extension of house arrest recognized as legitimate,” he said.

Previously Presnensky court extended the house arrest of Sharina until July 29.

We will remind, in October 2015, in the Library of Ukrainian literature in Moscow were searched, and then its Director Natalia Sharina was detained. She had seized 150 books and pamphlets. According to the Investigative Committee, in relation to Sharina opened a criminal case under article 282 of the Russian Criminal code (incitement of national hatred and enmity, and also humiliation of human dignity). A prima facie case, according to a statement by the RF IC, was spread among the visitors to the library edition of Dmytro Korchynskyi, which was recognized by the court as extremist and prohibited for use. Later investigation has charged her with embezzlement.

The library Director stated that his guilt does not recognize.
