The deal marks a new turn in trade war the canadian company in the US market.

The French group Airbus has agreed with canadian Bombardier on the joint construction of passenger medium-haul C series aircraft (C-Series). In a joint statement the company said that Airbus acquires a controlling interest (50.01% of shares) in the division of Bombardier, which has been assembling and selling these aircraft.

Itself, the canadian company will own 31% of shares, another 19% will belong to the authorities of the canadian province of Quebec. The deal will significantly reduce the cost of aircraft production series and to use the international scope of sales of the French group, said in a joint statement.

“This deal is win-win for everyone. I have no doubt that our partnership with Bombardier incredibly spur sales and the value of this project,” said Airbus President Tom Enders.

We will remind, in June, Airbus introduced an updated version of the world’s largest passenger airliner the A380. The new aircraft will be called A380plus.
