The final switch-off of analogue signal in Ukraine to be held in April-may 2019.

The government of Ukraine has extended the term of use of technology of analog television broadcasting until 31 August 2018. The relevant decision taken by the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, June 13, according to Interfax Ukraine.

The extension of the analog television broadcasting covers all areas except the Kiev and Kirovohrad region, where analogue broadcasting will be shut off July 31, 2018.

The Cabinet noted that this decision will allow for a phased transition from analogue to digital broadcasting and will enhance the level of information security of Ukraine.

Recall that according to the decision of the national Council on television, the first phase of switching off analogue signal was moved from March 30 to August 2018, and the second stage analog signal to the entire country, with the exception of channel UA: First, local broadcasters, analog channels on the territory of the ATO, and in some border areas is scheduled for January 2019.

Previously, analog television in Ukraine was scheduled to deactivate in 2015.
