Audi is a subsidiary of automaker Volkswagen has announced a recall of about 64 thousand cars with diesel engines V-TDI. This was reported by the press service of the Audi Thursday, December 6.

“Audi tomorrow in Germany will begin a recall of nearly 64 thousand cars with diesel engines V-TDI”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the Federal office of motor transport (KBA) has enabled Audi to update the software of the engine. This applies to 103,5 thousand cars series A6, A7 Sportback and A8 and SUVs Q5 and SQ5 TDI, which do not correspond to the standard Euro-6.

The company explained that it will be partially uninstalled software of the engine control system. For some model variants will be updated sensory system. The upgrade is free for customers Audi and will not adversely affect fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, engine performance, maximum torque and noise level, but also on the durability of after-treatment system of exhaust gases.

“In order to upgrade software, you need to recall the cars. For this reason, Audi is associated with all the owners concerned, please contact the partners or dealers,” – said in the Audi.

Earlier it became known that Audi will pay a fine in the amount of 800 million euros for the manipulation of the level of exhaust gases. The company acknowledged its responsibility and agreed to pay the money by not filing an appeal.

Earlier in June, in the case of diesel scandal was arrested the head of Audi, Rupert Stadler. He is involved as a defendant.
