The Minister demands to abolish term limits for pre-trial investigation.

The head of the Ministry of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov demands to abolish the law No. 6232 limits of pre-judicial investigation 6 months. The Minister said in comments to Ukrainian news.

“We insist it is to correct,” he said.

According to him, President Petro Poroshenko should take into account the comments and to make appropriate changes in the law.

Note that under the new law, police are required to give the person the notice no later than 6 months from the beginning of the pre-trial investigation.

The amendment provides for a change in the Criminal procedure code the timing of the calculation of pre-trial investigation.

Thus, provided that the term of pre-trial investigation in respect of serious and very serious crimes before presenting the suspect is 6 months in respect of crimes of medium gravity – 3 months in respect of criminal misconduct, – 2 months.

As reported, on October 3, deputies in the second reading and in General voted for the bill No. 6232 on amendments to several codes and regulations that launches judicial reform.
