St. George ribbon is outlawed in the Ukraine from the 15th of June 2017

For more than a month from the day this law enters into force to the charges brought against four people.

For the manufacture and use of St. George ribbons in Ukraine for more than a month of act it ban four people have suffered administrative punishment. This is with reference to the National police Agency reports Ukrainian news.

“As of July 18 was prepared and sent to the court 2 administrative Protocol in Vinnytsia oblast, 1 – in the Dnipropetrovsk region and 1 in Zaporizhia region. To administrative responsibility were involved 4 persons, including one in Vinnytsia region court has sentenced to public works for 30 days”, – said the publication with reference to the answer of national police at the request of the publisher.

We will remind, the law provides that the public use, display or wearing a St. George ribbon is punished with a fine from 50 to 150 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (850-2550 UAH) with confiscation of the tape.

For the repeated propaganda of the St. George ribbon is subject to a fine up to 300 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (5100 UAH) or administrative arrest for up to 15 days with confiscation of the tape.

A law banning St. George’s ribbons came into force on 15 June of the current year. The document provides an exception for veterans of the great Patriotic war, medals, or medals which contain elements of the St. George ribbon. Also, the provisions of the new article of the administrative offences Code do not apply to the use cases of the St. George ribbon public records, issued before 1991, in museums, on the original battle flags; on gravestones and buildings.
