Declared bankruptcy of the German airline Air Berlin is expected to cease to operate no later than October 28. This is stated in a statement released on Monday, October 9.

Subsidiaries Air Berlin – Austrian airlines, Niki and German LGW will continue to operate flights.

Until the 12th of October Air Berlin will continue negotiations about selling parts of the company with the largest German airline Lufthansa and the British airline EasyJet. After Air Berlin “step by step will curtail their own activity.”

In addition, today the management of Air Berlin begins negotiations with the representatives of the employees on the settlement of social obligations, and in the headquarters in Berlin for employees of the company will be held a job fair with potential future employers. Among them, in particular, called the chemical giant BASF and train group Deutsche Bann.

Recently, the European Commission allowed the German government to allocate airline Air Berlin a state loan of 150 million euros.
