Belarusian applied for the purchase of Ukrainian Sberbank

NBU for three months to consider the application.

Citizen of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Cyprus Victor Prokopenya submitted to the national Bank of Ukraine a package of documents for approval of indirect (through the Belarusian Paritetbank) the purchase of 100% shares of PJSC “Sberbank” (Kiev). As have informed Agency Interfax-Ukraine, the press service of the NBU, the documents were submitted on 30 June.

“At the present time received the documents for approval of acquisition of substantial shareholding in PJSC “Sberbank” are registered and are in the process”, – said the press service of the regulator.

It recalled that the NBU is considering the relevant documents within three months from the date of receipt of complete documents. During consideration of documents, the NBU will review the compliance of the business reputation of the investor’s requirements, established by regulatory legal acts of the regulator, its financial position and the origin of funds.

As reported in a press release, VP of investment Capital, the owners of which is Prokopenya, the company also filed to the regulatory authorities documents necessary for the acquisition belonging to the Republic of Belarus 99.83% of shares of Paritetbank for $ 50 million.

“Transaction (purchase Paritetbank and then purchase the specified Bank Ukrainian “daughter” of Sberbank – ed.) will be made only if it obtained the consent of all the controllers, matching the corresponding acquisition”, – stated in the document.

We will remind, in April the Latvian Norvik Banka refused to purchase the Ukrainian subsidiary of Russian Sberbank.
