Bereziuk: Voted today the law on the Prosecutor’s office returns it to 10-20 years ago

Березюк: Проголосованный сегодня закон о прокуратуре возвращает ее на 10-20 лет назад

The adopted on Thursday by Parliament, the law on the Prosecutor’s office gets it back decades, making it impossible to hold the office for European reform. This broadcast of “Prime Evening” on TV channel “112 Ukraine” said the head of the faction “Samopomich” Oleg Berezyuk.

He stressed that today the process of destruction of European reforms in the Prosecutor’s office.

“It’s pretty sad history of Ukrainian parliamentarism. Therefore, in the first place, the law, which today is passed, it returns the state office of public Prosecutor 10-20 steps back, compared to that law, which passed the previous Parliament, fearing Maidan. This is done in the hands of the current attorney General… Today completed the process of destruction of the European reform of the Prosecutor’s office. We are on the path of despotism, despotism and usurpation of power”, – said Berezyuk.

Today the Verkhovna Rada appointed Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. For the corresponding draft of the resolution No. 4654 voted 264 deputies.

Directly in the plenary hall, the decree was signed by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, and then was signed and the decree of the head of state. After that, Lutsenko took the oath and resigned from his Deputy duties.

Also today in the “Voice of Ukraine” published the law on the Prosecutor General’s office, which changed the requirements for a candidate for attorney General. Today the law passed by 258 votes of MPs.

In accordance with the adopted bill, a candidate for attorney General must have a University degree, not necessarily legal, and work experience in law or legislation and/or law enforcement on not less than five years, speak the state language, to have high moral, business, professional qualities and organizational skills.
