Bosch fined 90 million because of disilicate

Components manufacturer Bosch has supplied various OEMs millions of sensors with unauthorized software.

Automotive supplier Bosch was fined 90 million euros in the investigation of diesel scandal. Stuttgart prosecutors on Thursday, may 23, announced the decision to impose a penalty for “negligent breach of duty of supervision”.

According to the investigation, the company since 2008 has supplied various automakers about 17 million sensors metering and control, software which “contained a partially illicit strategy.”

Automakers have installed these sensors on cars, received from the authorities the appropriate permits and brought their products to market. The audits, however, it became clear that the engines of these vehicles emit far more nitrogen oxides than said brands.

Bosch refused to challenge the decision and pay the penalty the Federal state of Baden-württemberg for six weeks. Stuttgart prosecutors in this regard, announced the termination of the case against Bosch.

Earlier it was reported that the loss of German automaker Volkswagen in connection with diesel scandal has reached 30 billion euros. Only in Germany is about 60 thousand individual lawsuits against Volkswagen.
