Britain loses from Brexit 600 million pounds per week – Goldman Sachs

Британия теряет от Brexit 600 млн фунтов в неделю – Goldman Sachs

If the UK leaves the EU without an agreement, it will lead to even greater losses due to the devaluation of the pound sterling.

The UK economy suffers losses from the decision to leave the European Union some 600 million pounds ($786,5 million) a week. This is evidenced by analysts one of the world’s largest investment banks Goldman Sachs, according to Interfax-Ukraine on Monday, 1 April.

According to estimates, currently UK GDP is approximately 2.4% less than the hypothetical figure calculated under the condition that a referendum in 2016, the country has decided to remain part of the EU.

“The main losses are concentrated in the field of investment and consumer spending,” said Goldman Sachs economist Sven Jari Walls.

According to economists Goldman Sachs, if the UK leaves the EU without an agreement, it will lead to even greater losses due to the devaluation of the pound sterling. At the same time, if the country does decide to remain part of the European Union, the rise of its economy will accelerate to compensate for the damage.

We will remind, last week the UK government three times brought to a vote a bill to Brexit, but the Parliament rejected it three times.

The EU granted a reprieve until April 12, and if the authorities do not agree on the specific procedure Brexit, on this day, the country will leave the EU without any agreement.
