China made a successful launch of the carrier rocket Changzheng-3B with two navigation satellites Beidou-3, which became the 37th and 38th satellites of the global navigation system Beidou.

This is stated in the message of the Chinese Corporation aerospace science and technology of China (CASC) on Thursday, September 20.

The launch took place on Wednesday evening from the Xichang launch site in Sichuan province in southwest China. Both satellites went into orbit. The satellites will work together with other previously launched satellites Beidou after passing a series of tests.

China is planning by the end of 2018 to increase to 18 the number of in orbit satellites, Beidou-3, and by the end of 2020, to 30.

Beidou – China’s global created a navigation system that will compete with the American GPS and the Russian GLONASS. It is planned that by 2020 the system will provide navigation services worldwide.

Earlier, China made a successful launch of the carrier rocket Changzheng-2C satellite for Oceanographic observations and research, Hai’an 1 (HY-1C). He will conduct research for five years.

Recall that in 2018, China plans to launch 40 rockets, including his most powerful at the moment, Changzheng-5.
