The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov commented on the ban of the organizers of the Eurovision-2016 prohibition flag of the Crimean Tatars. About this he wrote in his Facebook.

“Place the correct accents. The Eurovision organizers have streamlined the use of flags, leaving only the opportunity to demonstrate national flags of the countries participating in this competition”, – he wrote.

Chubarov said that such a decision is he “don’t like”, but he believes that “the organizers aim to avoid obstacles that may arise due to the politicization of the Kremlin this competition”.


“Let’s just focus in supporting performances Jamala votes of the inhabitants in the countries participating in the competition,” summed up Chubarov.

As reported, the Crimean Tatar flag on the website appears in the same row with the flags of Palestine, Kosovo and Northern Cyprus, and Transnistria, the self-proclaimed republics DNR and IG.
