Clubs top 5 leagues in Europe spent the summer a record amount on transfers

Клубы топ-5 лиг Европы потратили летом рекордную сумму на трансферы

Football clubs of the European leagues have set a new transfer record.

Clubs of the five strongest European football Championships in the summer of 2019 spent on transfers to the equivalent of 5 billion pounds (5.5 million euros), which is a new record transfer, reports the BBC, citing a study by business group Deloitte.

The previous record, which was installed last summer, was 800 million less (about 870 million euros).

Champions have clubs from the English Premier League spent on transfers to 1.55 billion euros. Second place went to the clubs of the Spanish Examples with the figure of 1.36 billion euros. Rounded out the top three Italian clubs, to shell out 1.16 billion euros.

A little more modest behaved representatives of the German Championships (736 million euros) and France (665 million euros). But their performance separately also was a record for countries.

Dan Jones, head of the sports Department, Deloitte, reported that record spending is unprecedented and caused by a number of factors, including record sponsorship, and TV contracts.

At the same time …improved financial performance of European football clubs also reduced the need for clubs to sell their best players – said Jones.
